Opening Minds through Art (OMA)
Building bridges across age and cognitive barriers through art.
OMA Art Show Opening Reception will be held on Thursday, December 1, 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Community Room. The public is invited to attend. The exhibit and silent auction of various artworks will continue through December 15.
OMA is a Scripps Gerontology Center, Miami University, Oxford, OH, intergenerational art program for people with dementia. The goals of OMA are based on the foundation of an intergenerational relationship built between the OMA artist and his/her student volunteer. Friends Fellowship Community has student volunteers from Earlham College, Indiana University East, Ivy Tech Community College and Richmond High School participating in OMA as artist partners and program assistants. We are excited by the continuing growth of Opening Minds through Art and its impact on our community.
Please join us on the evening of December 1, 2016, as we celebrate these special relationships and the creative artworks of our OMA residents.
