Literally. Friends Fellowship Community periodically holds Family Education Nights focusing on the effects of Alzheimer’s disease. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to really walk in the shoes of one of our residents living with Alzheimer’s and experience life through their eyes? We have the tools to simulate this experience – it’s a Dementia Virtual Tour, including goggles, gloves and yes, inserts for shoes, among other items that will take you from your fully-functioning and sensing world quickly into a confusing, frustrating and possibly frightening world. If you are interested in this hands-on experience, please call our Program Director in The Courtyards, Erin Miller, to find out when the next opportunity is to walk a few feet as someone living with Alzheimer’s.
